We live in a world filled with unpredictability—economic shifts, health crises, personal losses, and spiritual battles.
Your generosity makes a difference! Every gift helps us spread hope, serve our community, and share God’s love with those in need. Thank you for being a part of this mission!
Good morning, church.
Today, we gather around a theme that speaks directly to the heart of our daily struggles: Walking in Faith: Trusting God in Uncertain Times.
We live in a world filled with unpredictability—economic shifts, health crises, personal losses, and spiritual battles. But in the midst of all this, God calls us to walk by faith, not by sight.
Let’s begin with a foundational scripture:
Proverbs 3:5–6 — *“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Heaven “In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
This passage reminds us that trusting God is not a passive act—it’s a daily decision to lean on Him rather than our own understanding. And when life feels uncertain, that decision becomes even more critical.
Let’s begin by defining faith.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is not wishful thinking. It’s confidence in the character and promises of God, even when we can’t see the outcome.
Think of Peter walking on water in Matthew 14. Jesus called him out of the boat, and Peter stepped onto the waves. As long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus, he walked in faith. But when he looked at the storm, he began to sink.
Lesson: Faith falters when we focus on the storm instead of the Savior.
We trust God not because life is easy, but because God is trustworthy.
Isaiah 46:9–10 — “I am God, and there is no other… My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”
Even when life feels chaotic, God is in control.
Lamentations 3:22–23 — “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed… His mercies are new every morning.”
He doesn’t abandon us in our trials.
Hebrews 13:8 — “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
In a world that constantly shifts, God remains our steady foundation.
These promises are not just comforting—they are anchors for our soul.
Faith is not a one-time event. It’s a lifestyle. Here are four practical ways to walk in faith:
Philippians 4:6–7 — “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition… present your requests to God.”
Prayer is how we release control and invite God into our uncertainty.
Psalm 119:105 — “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
God’s Word gives clarity when the road ahead is dark.
Look at Abraham in Genesis 12. God told him to leave everything familiar and go to a land He would show him. Abraham obeyed without knowing the destination.
Faith is not knowing the full plan—it’s trusting the One who does.
Hebrews 10:24–25 — “Let us consider how we may spur one another on… not giving up meeting together…”
We need each other. Faith grows in community.
Let’s look at three powerful examples:
Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, imprisoned unjustly. Yet he trusted God.
Genesis 50:20 — “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”
Faced with the possible death of her people, she risked her life to speak to the king.
Esther 4:14 — “Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Shipwrecked, beaten, imprisoned—yet he wrote,
2 Corinthians 4:8–9 — “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed…”
These stories remind us: Faith doesn’t remove the trial—it gives us strength to endure it.
Let me share a story of someone who walked in faith during uncertain times. (Insert personal or known testimony here—e.g., someone who trusted God through illness, job loss, or a major life transition.)
Their story is a reminder that God is still working, even when we don’t see it.
So what do we do today?
Ask yourself:
“Where do I need to trust God more deeply today?”
Let’s close with this promise:
Isaiah 26:3 — “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Peace doesn’t come from certainty—it comes from trust.
So walk in faith. Trust in the One who holds your future. And remember: even in uncertain times, God is certain.
